Meet the New Home Builder: Phil Goetzmann
Phil is a local new home builder in Colorado Springs with over 35 years of experience. He realized his home building passion at age 15, when he spent summers working as an apprentice for a local builder. By the age of 21, he was a licensed contractor, and built his first home – from the ground up – at the age of 22 in Black Forest.
Colorado Springs has always been “home” to Phil. His father, an army colonel, brought their young family to Colorado Springs where Phil fell in love with the beauty and outdoor diversity this great city offered. Phil graduated from Air Academy High School, went on to enjoy college life in Durango, then returned to the Springs to pursue his home building passion. Early on, he met Greg Tollis, a man equally dedicated to constructing beautiful homes and they eventually formed a business partnership.
Sharing life with his wife, Karen, and 4 kids Phil understands the importance of family values and enjoys time spent with loved ones playing in the magnificent mountains of Colorado, snowmobiling, skiing, and golfing. Though an outdoors enthusiast, Phil recognizes how important it is to reconnect after a day of work or play, in a home that is filled with memories, is comfortable, safe, and echoes with laughter and joy. Without a doubt, Phil is confident that our team can build the treasured home you too have longed for – the reputation of the Goetzmann name says so!

The Goetzmann Home Building Process
No Charge Change Orders/ Budgeting for Your New Home.
Planning a budget for a new home does not need to be stressful, daunting or intimidating. We are committed to providing upfront pricing and discussing options and cost upgrades early in the process to assist with keeping your new home on budget. Helping to ensure your home reflects your vision, we offer complementary five hours of consultation time with our award-winning interior designer. If you change your mind on a selection or you were just inspired and want to add a special touch, no problem! We do not charge for change orders as many builders do because we recognize this as a natural part of the building process. This is your home and we want it to be exactly as you have envisioned so we encourage you to have fun with it.
We Build Award Winning Homes
Through experience, I’ve refined our process to deliver the results our clients desire and have come to expect in a Goetzmann home. Through all phases of your building project, you can be assured of the dedication of the team we have working with you personally. Although the opportunity for becoming a high production builder has presented itself over the years, I only take on as many builds as allows me to give maximum time and attention to your home’s fine details, which means on-site, tools in hand. I measure my success on building a home of excellence, and by the number of highly satisfied clients who recommend us. We have high demand for existing, award winning home designs so the majority of what we build is semi-custom with finishes that reflect your individual touch. We do, however, have clients that love the experience of building their unique custom home with us.
We Work with Quality Craftsmen
We have a long tradition of building superior homes in Colorado and are proud that we have accomplished this by building strong partnerships with true craftsmen, many who have been with us for over 20 years. We work with exceptional carpenters, masons, plumbers, electricians, framers, painters, designers and we value these skilled craftsmen as some of our greatest assets, who have helped us win numerous, prestigious awards over the years.
Communication is Always Our Priority
At the heart of a Goetzmann building experience is sincere communication. Our entire team strives to be an open book with you from the very beginning. From the time we walk the lot with you to turning over the keys to your new home, our team stays directly involved. We welcome your questions and want you to be engaged. Our business office is located in one of our models. Not only does this reduce overhead, it also means accessibility to your home-building team.
